Here is another way to tie the double alpine butterfly loop. I don’t know if it’s better, just different.
Youtube user tjwiltube came up with an easy way to tie the alpine butterfly knot. I added an extra twist to turn it into a double alpine butterfly.

This is a way that I tie it, I always got confused with the twists:

Due to the 100KB file size limit - I’m not sure if this will be clear enough.
But, it is an interesting method and application.

Edit Note: I should mention that I use this particular derivation of #1053 in situations where I don’t want any connector (ie carabiner) - to reduce the risk of misalignment and/or cross-loading. The pulley has a captive ‘eye’ that swivels (made by Rock Exotica USA) - and is one of the best pulleys for vertical rescue / rope access applications in my view.
Hey Johnny D,
Nothing beats the Hybrid Method for ergonomic ease and quick tying… https://youtu.be/DYGdvL9-P309
Just add another loop on the hand for the Double ABK.
