Bowline knot.. my record

Hello

I just made a movie of myself making a bowline knot in around 2 seconds..

I wonder if there are any records out there that i can break?.. it is a real bowline knot im making

I found out in the military in Denmark that i could make knots way faster than the other soldiers. I also impressed alot of the seargents and officers. Could this be a hidden talent?.. but i havent figured out how my talent can be used for anything ;D

Visit the youtube videos of the other member of the Forum, Alan Lee, who - besides being a knot tyer who has invented many new knots - can do the same, but with one hand ! :slight_smile:

Alan Lee have made some amazing movies..

First time i made knots, was in the millitary 4 years ago, and that was only for 2-3 weeks where i learned to make 4-5 knots.. I havent made any knots the last 4 years, but i bought a rope yesterday and did 20 minutes of knotting a bowline before i made the video..

I cant really find any other videos where they make a standard bowline fast

Knotboy,

As a Guild we tend to pick up names like " The Knot Man", from the non knot tyers, so feel free to use your own name.
So now you have bought a piece of rope just to tie knots in, and then undo it again and again, you really must be one of us.

One knot in two secs, no datem, no rules. Have a look in the’ Guiness Book of Records’ :- 6 Knots in 8.1 sec. These are the Boy Scout tenderfoot knots, this time has not been changed in years.

Are you a Guild member yet, we do have members in Denmark ??

In the mean-while this task needs a young mind, with nimble fingers. How about posting your time with six knots, to get your name ( and the Guild’s) into print ‘Big Time’,I mean fast time.
