I am currently reading the book and finding it very interesting.

What caught my attention most is the way the author approaches the subject. It feels less like a book focused on simply teaching how to tie knots, and more like a practical explanation of how and why knots, ropes, and cables were actually used aboard ships.

The book gives the impression of real seamanship in action, showing the application, the forces involved, safety concerns, and the practical thinking behind each use, rather than only the form of the knots themselves.

That makes the reading experience feel very alive and authentic.
