Does anyone know what this weave is called? I found this image online and would love to re-create.

Yep. It’s called by the Australian whip makers the whip makers weave. It’s just a simple under 3 over 3 sequence.

Hi scottinoz.

Here is a link to a generous tutorial on making a whip.
Step #15
It shows what you are looking for and more!

I hope this helps.

I am not seeing a link. Is this some kind of problem with my browser?

My bad, sorry for this. I will repair it later today.
It is a “Instructables” tutorial if you care to browse for it.

Now repaired.

Nice link. My uncle used to braid bullwhips with rawhide and load them with lead shot. I wanted to emulate him, but since there is no rawhide readily available here, I used electrical wire (affectionately known as zip cord in the US) and braided a 10-foot bullwhip. I liked the weight when using the zip cord, but it was rather ugly. Perhaps I’ll have to use a paracord overlay next time.
