> Sometimes, it’s tedious leafing through the 638 pages of the bible, the Ashley book of knots in order to check an item

Given how densely item-#'d [ABoK](https://discourse.igkt.net/t/9845) is,
I find it reasonably easy to do the thumbing
--one gets close and then closer, and scanning
to find the [ABoK](https://discourse.igkt.net/t/9845) item-# is much the same as
scanning page-#s.

What is needed, is an Index that gives for each
named/described item (e.g., "clove hitch") a full
set of ITEM-#s where it multiply occurs
--page #s be damned, being of small help--,
AND with some font-type or listing-ordering
that indicates the nature of the item's occurrence
--maybe only mentioned, maybe something more
substantial.

What is frustrating --and potentially research-defeating--
is having the Index give just a page #, which page might
have more than one occurrence, and which item(s) one
must hunt for with the mere clue of the page(s) to search.
