hello people.

to need a little help.

some time, I have been looking for something that is not really a knot, but a kind of braid. used by fighters of the martial art muay Thai.
call or prajied Kruang.
Someone happened to have some step by step, for this braid?
in some images from the movie Ong Bak, I looked on google, is clearly
the arm of a leading man. if it helps.
this is my first post, so do not know what to do … hehe :smiley:

(note: not repair a lot, because I’m using the google translator hehe ;D)

The term for this kind of braid is usually sinnet (or sometimes sennit). I don’t know which sinnet you’re looking for, but it might help you to find it.

Do you know how many strands are in the sennit you are looking for? A picture would be a big help.

It is a sennit…This is only one example. Many fighters use different types…

Inkanyezi, thanks for attention, XD, lately I’ve been looking for this type of braid, but until then, had not seen that term, Sennitt, geometrically and searched on google, relamente seem to be such, XD, if you have some stuff about it, thank you, XD.

Well, the number of components that have this Sennitt, do not know for sure, and below, three images that I found very interesting, especially the film ONG BAK, which is this fighter picture (excuse the lack of information, but XD the sections that you say, are the number of “ropes” used for making this braid? hehehe is that I am in Brazil and I’m using google translator, and sometimes, some terms are different from those used here XD)

sharky, thanks also for the information, really is this kind of “braiding” call Sennitt. XD. this one that you showed, was seen on youtube, but with another name, “paracord” this kind of “braiding” is that we are currently using.
but when looking at the picture below, the movie, ONG BAK, I was willing to do our “tracks” undergraduate, similar to this movie. hehehe

well, what do you have material on “Sennitt” I would greatly appreciate it XD.

this last is also used by Muay Thai fighters, if you have any information about this “braid”, not would not feel bad XD hehehe

The first link is the Solomon Bar sennit using square knots over some type of filler material. I couldn’t get the second one to come up, but the third one looks like a 6 strand crown sennit. It definately is a crown sennit, just don’t know how many strands for sure.

Just got that second link to come in, it is a Solomon bar sennit as well as the first link, only this one looks like it is done with all cordage and no filler.

I think the word you are looking for is KUMIHIMO it is Japanese silk braiding techniques or Basic MARUDAI Braids ,they were used to secure the armour of warriors.

Please have a care with the word Sennit - it is a sailors word, from Latin and by name you have only up to 16 cords, it may limmit the scope of your research. I am not sure I would be the man to tell the Master Craftsman from a school of braiding oh it is only a sennet.
If you really wish to learn, I know a man who works with 120 cords, and I am sure his wife will be reading this.

KenY…Kumihimo as well as marudai are Japanese braiding and not Thai braiding, so that may not be the direction he wants to go…16 strands are more than enough to do a crown sennit like the one shown in the third link…Probably has some sort of filler as a core.

Keny, I apologize for my manners, had no intention, I lay on the subject, I started looking for sources, tips and anything else that might help, since we, here in my country, not with any material on this broad subject. :frowning: . I’m learning and I promise to try to take care ok xD. But then, thank you for this information also was of great help.

Sharky again appreciate your info, xD, really the crown Sennit can resolve my case, I will make one and see how it is. xD
martial art practice which is kickboxing, not a lot of information about how to show undergraduate athletes. however, was adopted here in our country, the same style undergraduate that Muay Thai fighters use, as stated earlier, called Kruang or prajied. in theory, should use “tracks” as karate fighters use. but hinders the training in my opinion.
I really wanted was to get it in Thailand and buy one to see how it’s done … hehehe but as it is currently not possible, I have to look on the internet :frowning:

Practice with a 4 strand sennit, then move up to 6 strands, after that, you will need to use something for the core in order to support the sennit. I tried to count the strands on the picture, and it looked like thay were using 12 strands. Good luck on your knotting…
