# Making of a Dutch Bucket

A Dutch conical canvas bucket i made a few years back, the cone shape made it a bit harder but as for a first I was pleased with the result.

The pattern comes from a book by Louie Bartos, _Making of a Ship’s Traditional Canvas Bucket_.

The measurements in the book use decimal inches. I converted them to millimeters and then drew the pattern on millboard, but I realized the pattern was incorrect. I’m unsure whether my conversion was wrong or the book’s measurements were slightly off.

That’s a good looking bucket! I feel your pain on the conversion. I’m usually converting the other way tho. Which is aweful. Thanks for the book suggestion. I haven’t run across that one before.
