Nice. How did you find working with the wire/cable?
How Do Justinas and all ![]()
Very nice work Justinas,I like the blue and red 4 strand neclace.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
Take care,
Barry.
Well, not much difference between wire and tight braid rope, just had some problems at the edges of bracelet where it gets tighter. And much less freedom to manipulate with it. For joining the ends I simply did “lazyman’s splice” and put crimps from jewelery shop on the sticking ends of wire to hide them.
I ask because I tried once to tie a knot with … i believe it was laundry line (braided wire coated with plastic) purchasd from the hardware store. Willful stuff, sharp bends were a big problem (I should perhaps have taken a wrench/vise to the bends in question, pliers weren’t doing the trick).
I didn’t use any tools at all, except fid. Tied it on big mandrel and just tightened a bit after removing.
If You look my album there is a cross made of wire too. I had some problems with it because the chosen wire was too thick to make nice and small cross as I’ve planned, but still I used no tools, if I wish to make wire bend nicely I just take a bight and squeeze by sides as close to the “top” of the bight as possible and maybe even give “wave rolling” action to make wire a little softer.
But You still may see that cross’es “arms” are a bit pear shaped because I didn’t put enough force to it
