I don’t know if many of you have photos on the Yahoo Photos site, but are those who do aware of the fact that Yahoo Photos will be closing on 20th September? They are transferring their photo storage facility to Flickr. If you go to your Album there is a link to an explanation of what’s going to happen.
At the moment this does NOT seem to apply to Yahoo Photos UK & Northern Ireland, or to the Photo Albums within individual Groups, but I guess these could be the next ones to go. Hopefully they’ll leave the Group ones alone, it would be pretty daft to move them over as they are mainly Group-specific.

Yes, I noticed that last time I was in on Yahoo.
If I understood them correctly an offer to transfer to Flickr or some other service would be sent out to owners of affected albums when time was getting shorter, so I did not concern myself much about it at that moment.

I have many albums on the Yahoo photo pages and they “offered” to do the transfer of my stuff to flickr for me. I’ve been waiting for about 5 days now - the yahoo info is locked, I can’t get to it, and nothing is up on flickr yet :-[. Luckily, I have all of the originals, but I do not recommend letting Yahoo preform the move for you. I am also doing some investigation into using the gmail photo options (google).
I have been investigating several sites.
Flickr is out, negative name assosiations and on top of that a maximum number of free uploads.
(As I often upload double the monthly number in a day, you understand that this is a real consideration.)

I transferred all my knot photo’s there and they seem to have a nice enough site and on top of that
they offer a free upload/retouch/photo-organiser program free of charge and I must say it’s the best tool for this purpose iv’e seen so to date…
