If anyone had the gear or ideas,
i always think burst testing Binding Knots might reveal some things, true some theories?
Less impact of change thru the unilaterally loaded structure
Even a draw test w/locking parts solidly seated to host , rope as big open chain link/soft shackle
But not too harsh a bending
to maintain only testing Binding not sharper arcs
.
Different than Bend and Hitch tests of linear force from outside knot brought into degrading arcs conversion
Binding test would start inside knot already, and load evenly thru layers, not receding force degraded
Binding goes to radial arc knot internals as any other, but also starts there so no conversions
nor impact waves of change from conversions echoing thru
True Bending would be pure study, of the knot defining arc only (in round burst test)
.
Even if not use the data outright
is such a contrasting definition to Hitch/Bend, as to give them more ‘color’/ definition
and a missing piece in rope work science not looked at?
