Farrimond friction hitch and tucked round turn

I have been playing with the Farrimond friction hitch. I found that ‘tucking’ a turn in a manner of Midshipman’s hitch (#1855) makes it work better than the original? version (similar coiling to #1856). I’ve seen Farrimond hitch documented in various places, but I can’t find the ‘tucked’ version of it. Was something like that discussed on IGKT and does my observation make sense?

Wouldn’t that stop it being quick release or am I misunderstanding what you are meaning?

It’s still quick release, but seems to grip and hold the standing end better.

Maybe a picture can show it.

On the left there is a standard Farrimond with the the turns around the standing end next to each other

On the right it’s the same knot, but now the round turns are on top of the first turns.
