Thanks to both for the suggestions. I’ve been knotting for ~60 years, and just returning to it. My Ashley Book of Knots seemed to be a first edition! Think I might prefer a sinnet or braid for all around use. The local hardware store has nylon that is too slippery or too stiff. By the way, I recently found a pdf of TABK can could be OCR’ed, but I guess everyone on this list knows that–or maybe I got it from this list?
