Finally! New pictures!

Finally! I promised you long ago to put up some photos from the fairs I attended before Christmas, and some of the things I had for sale there. (In particular, some of you asked for pics of my cat and dog toys) It has taken much longer than intended to shoot the pictures, but here they are at last:

Me and my table at one of the fairs. (No good picture of me, though!) There were only these taken as there were 4000 visitors during the 6 hours, making it just a tiiiiny bit crowded…

A floating (tied around a 50 mm styrofoam ball) key fob for a boat key. The lignum vitae thimble is made from cutoff pieces from making bushings on a small wharf on an island outside Gothenburg: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/lasse_carenvall/detail?.dir=accc&.dnm=465ascd.jpg&.src=ph

Traditional Swedish snaps glasses with an 11L 4B TH on the stem. (Turned out quite nice, I think!) To combine them with a hitch-covered bottle to a “gift kit” turned out to be very appreciated. (I´m working on another gift kit on request right now :))

Small LLK earrings made from “Handy 100” cord. Cute, and quite popular among girls!

The cat & dog toys. The cat toys are about 20 mm in diameter, tied around a 15 mm spherical bell giving it a rattling sound. Being firm and tight, they get good speed when the cats hit them – which they seem to like! They chase them all over! I started making a few on the fair mostly to keep my hands busy – but they sold as fast as I could make them! Pleasant surprise!

The dog toys in the picture are tied from 8 mm rope, Monkeys Fist and spliced lopp - sturdy and made for action. The blue kind floats in water. So far I have never met or heard of a dog who does not like them! They are good for tug-of-war games, fetching and general play (but not intended as a "chewie"toy, naturally!). All ends are locked inside the knot, leaving no loose ends outside. My wife tried to take more pictures of them in use, but nearly all of the pictures were blurred because the dogs moved around all the time! ::slight_smile:

Anyway, I hope you like the things!

Hi Lassse,
Well done, you have some nice decorative work there, and you are putting decorative knots to good practical uses too.
I did not see an IGKT ‘Member’ notice on your table - If you do not have one and would like one, I can send you one which will sit nicely in a standard photograph frame.

Oh, yes, it was there! I would not dream of standing on a fair without an “IGKT Member” sign!

It is small, and does not show very well on the photo, but if you look closely you can see it on photo “Christmas fair 2”. In the front, between the boat key fob and the small plastic bags with LLK earrings.

How do Lasse and All;)

Nice pictures as usual.

I am not really a doggie man, but I think the dog pictures are cool.
It’s nice to see the rope work being abused; as it should be

Take care,
Barry

Yep, the dogs really seem to like those toys! The texture of a tight Monkeys Fist appears to feel very nice to bite into and gives a good grip. We know a person who is competing on elite level with her well-trained dog. His “reward” when he has performed well in training is to play, and one of the toys he is most fond of is one of my knots. When that knot comes out this large Rottweiler male acts like a playful puppy, I´m told! (Apparently quite a sight… :D)
