How to Tie a Chinese Cloverleaf Knot by TIAT (Video Instructions)

It’s a wonder why I haven’t shown how to tie the Chinese
Cloverleaf Knot
until now.

Effectively a miniature version of the Pan Chang Knot, its
cloverleaf pattern is as much a symbol of good luck in
China, as it is in the west.

I usually read the forum via “unread posts since last visit” so I don’t pay that much attention to which particular forum a post might actually be on, but then I decided to have another look at JD’s latest (on Fancy Knotwork Tutorials for those in similar situations as I was) and I noticed that on this particular forum, the whole first screen are all JD’s posts. Hurrah, JD!

Since JD brought up the topic, I thought I’d continue the conversation with some links to relevant pages and posts on my instructional site and blog.

Also, speaking of pan chang knots, look at this beauty I found, 20x20, I believe the Chinese says. That’s a lot of string!:

Knotting 20 cycles reborn knot need 1 working day. And than spend 30 hours for adjustment. Nobody can use needle & pad knotting it. 16.5cmX16.5cm. Starting rope (diameter 2 mm) is 32 meter. Remain rope 2.5 meter after finished.

32 metres of cord, and 54 hrs of work. don’t be using that for a coaster! 8)

Just…Wow! :o

I’m sincerely blown away by that.
