I will be trying that one as well, thanks for sharing your Knowledge Tony, I could have done with it a year ago though ;D My net may not have taken so long then.
I will let you know how I find it.

Take care,

Wow, why has no one else thought of that yet?
You need to have a slightly longer length of line out from the needle than usual (in my case anyway) but this causes no problems, I did find though that as the line got shorter and the loop smaller it caught around the hand in the final stage of making the mesh sometimes, but nothing that a bit of practice can’t solve,

Thanks for sharing,
I will be making use of this technique on my next project.

Take care,
Barry

Thanks Barry. You are correct in using a longer length of line. I only used a shorter length to show the placement of the line. Tony

thanx thats much easier than the normal method

That’s great Jose. Many others now prefer this method. Tony

Can anybody reccomend a supplier of netting needles?

list of several sources. Also click at the top to get to the rest of the net making forum. The “Tools of the Trade” thread gives suggestions for making your own. Tony

Now I need some info on making or repairing basketball hoop nets. Any links?

Many thanks for all your help.

I have made basketball nets for neighborhood kids using the method shown in following link. It fits a regulation 18" diameter hoop. Tony
