My new Go -To fixed loop- Double Dragon around an object

I also found a series of photos for tying this knot around an object that I have adopted for all tying whether there is an object to tie around or not. I will try to upload about a dozen images showing how to tie in the next message. I like the technique because it is simple/easy to learn and remember

I uploaded three replys with 5 photos each showing the cute gimmick for tying.

this knot whether you have an object to tie around or not

Hey Preventec47, thanks for the clear pictures, they are worth thousands of words!

But, do you feel this is easier than the # 1010 Bowline? I’m not criticizing, just curious and would like to know?

If you really absorb the routine shown in the first 3 or 4 pictures ….

Then you will understand how it is much easier than the bowline to tie.

If you play with a rope for a few minutes, you will see that you can just wrap a loop around your three fingers and flick your hand to create the base to starr

the know with. It is now the only fixed loop knot I ever use and can see no drawbacks.

I guess it is an individual( ‘s) thing. And that’s great - whatever works for you.

I think the snap bowline is on par for ease. IMO

Sometimes it can be the material we tie with and severity of use that can influence the choice of knot we use.

Thanks again.

Look at these five pics to show the gimmick I was referring to as far as starting the tying of the knot. The photos dont always show in the order uploaded so try to sequence the pic properly.

This is really nice. Thanks for the pics, only took a minute to figure out because they’re so clear. It’s good to have a way to tie this around an object. It’s a nice knot I just learned about a year ago. But so many times when tying a loop, it’s around an object. So now I can actually make use of it!
