Need help for a ring hitch

Hi, Ashley shows us how to tie a ring hitch on its double #1862 with a little correction of direction…

I’m looking for a way to tie a prusik the same way I mean on a ring (see image).

Thank you.

I tie ‘purcell’ prusik hitches to a ring as part of an adjustable anchor (nylon to metal contact interface), or in stretcher rigging (called a ‘litter’ in the USA).
The same method would be used if you wanted a standard 3 wrap prusik instead of a purcell.

However, I’m not 100% sure if you mean that you cant remove the cord/rope from the ring (ie its fixed) or if you can tie it according to the link below. Sorry if this isn’t relevant!

Photos aren’t the best but they should give you an idea…

Can also go to this link: http://www.animatedknots.com/purcell/

Again its a ‘purcell’ but, the same procedure applies.

EDIT NOTE: Found this link: https://igkt.net/sm/index.php?topic=1829.0 not sure it is of interest though?

Hope this helps

Hi All,
I look at how Ashley tie it, and here I come up this way to tie it to the ring, it is quite a simple tying method,
I am sure some one much have tie it this way before.
There is little problem here for prusik knot, after you got the ring though, the prusik knot was tangling,
you need slowly redress to prusik knot. 謝謝 alanlee

It may be good to update your photo to match your text. Some may think you’re trying to push the cords through instead of the ring. The method seems to fit the bill. Good solution.

Thanks everyone for helping but the technique Eric shows is easy if you have just a rope or a rope with small object that you can pass through. The method I’m looking for is as the same way of the ASHLEY #1862. Just suppose that the objet on the end of the rope is rigid and too long to be pass through. I know it is possible but I’m not able to solve it.

ABoK #1862 seems to have the ring passing through the tangle as well. Is that not acceptable?

Maybe it’d help to describe your application in more concrete detail.

You are right ROO, if you pass the ring trough the prusik instead of the loop it works. Like you said the photo of Eric is a bit confusing. Thanks everyone.

Hi All,
Roo, Thanks you very much for the reply, I have a video here should make it less confuse.

Hi All,
Borrow Ashley’s idea, Ring can go in, Ring can come out.
