New Bend from kost_greg

A bend was posted by kost_greg in Knotting Concepts & Explorations on 28/6/2026. Really as he said it is not in my archives.

Hi kost_grey, will you post the back view of this bend and tie it with two different colors ropes. At the meantime I think I have worked it out, but not sure the back is right with yours. Surely I will include it in my knotting folder.

Happy Knotting

One might see it as Ashley’s #1425 (no “a”)
with gratuitous Tail tucks --maybe meeting
a desire to be aligned with tension vs being
perpendicular to it, as in #1425. The extra
tuck isn’t gratuitous for the Eye Knot, though.

As noted elsewhere, there are various dressing
possibilities, and in just the tangle shown here
one has a choice of what ends to load --Mark
remarking at the offset ones.

Thank you in advance for any inclusion in your valuable bend archives.

Truth is i expected it to be there, it’s probably a surprise that you have missed it.

I’m pretty sure that you have worked it out properly, your expertise in the field of bends is so vast, that you don’t really need back sides or different colour ropes.

Besides, agent_smith, has already posted various profiles of the knot, using different colour ropes, and back side images as well.

This knot is just a follow-through procedure to Abok#525 stopper, so you could name it accordingly, e.g, 525 derived bend.

What really matters, is the properties of the various profiles such as stability, jam resistance e.t.c.
