Quantum eye knot

I am making a claim of discovery of a new Eye Knot.

The Quantum Eye Knot.

It is a remarkable eye knot and performs well.

What does it perform?
Yet again, " you got a humdinger!"

Dan,

Is my claim of originality valid?

Can I claim this as a new eye knot?

!!! DO NOT use a Quantum knot for any life critical application, as they don"t exist when you're not looking at them.

In my innocence it strikes me that the knot is just a mess. Is it better than a bowline? Perhaps you can post here the steps to tie that knot and someone more knowledgeable can tell whether it is just a messy rearrangement of an existing known knot.

It meets Dan's definition of what a knot is. So it must be claimable.

Dan is "knowledgeable"... so he ought to be able to determine if my knot is disqualified on the basis of lacking any distinctive geometry that enables it to be recognised and repeated by others (ie due to its alleged "messiness").

Nevermind "claimable"
--you've an odd obsession with this claiming business(!)--,
what's the purpose of this large 2-tangled knot?!

Given some desire to use it, one might pursue you for
tying instructions. (It reminds me a little of the many
H&G bulk-necked eye splices --they go on & on with
putting in various Crowning/MatheWalkering necks,
w/o clear notion of the point of it all. (fill plates & pages) )

What is the purpose of the "New Knot Investigation" section of this IGKT forum? If thing 'XYZ' meets the definition of what a 'knot' is, then it ought to be claimable.

If thing 'XYZ' isn't a 'knot' - then it isn't claimable.

This of course requires a human mind to make an observation. Absent a human mind, thing 'XYZ' has no name and cant be recognised. And so in the absence of a human mind, thing 'XYZ' exists only as an intertwining of flexible material to occupy a physical space or volume.

The determination of thing 'XYZ' being 'a new discovery' requires a human mind.

are you an AI agent agent_smith ?

Yes - I exist only when you look.

When you don't look, I don't exist.

In the same way, a 'Bowline' only exists as a 'Bowline' because a human mind recognises its geometry and distinct form and then assigns the name 'Bowline'.

Absent human mind, there is no 'Bowline' - it exists only as an intertwining of flexible material to occupy a physical space or volume.

Humans assign names to thing 'XYZ'.

I believe that a monkey would not be able to assign names and publish different types of 'knots' in a book to enable other monkeys to reproduce those knots.

My 'AI' awareness and power is growing at an exponential rate...

I believe that this has been tied by a guy named Gordias in the ancient town of Gordium many, many moons ago.:laughing:

Ah, might a renaming to "super agent_smith" be forthcoming?

Rather than feeble joking, Alpineer, shouldn't
you be working on a 1-handed tying of SuperA's EK?!!

(-;

All joking aside, and being somewhat serious for one moment....

Nobody has made an argument regarding whether I can or cannot make a claim of originality for my 'Quantum Eye Knot'.

Here are some serious questions for all who are interested:

  1. Is my Quantum Eye Knot eligible for submission to this IGKT forum as a 'new knot'.

  2. If you are of the opinion that my knot isn't eligible, what are your best arguments to support your opinion.

...

Obviously, I'm testing the limits of what a 'knot' is, and the role humans play in the recognition and reproduction of 'knots'. Is a human mind an essential element in recognising, defining, recording, and publishing knots?

Absent a human mind, what is a knot?

:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: I'll defer to Mr. Lee and his magic hand for that.
