Rings on backpack straps - useful for anything other than a practical object for easy pulling

Hi forum. I have a back pack where the main straps have plastic rings on the straps. I mainly use those to ease the lifting of the package or just as a pace to hold the thumb to keep the hand/arm when walking.

But - are there any practically alternative use of those rings you guys can come up with ?

Hi Knutern.

Depending on how the plastic rings are attached, and if they are to be removed, or not, I would think about some webbing loops. Might be more comfortable and you could adjust the size to a better hand position. Just an idea.

I have used them for securing things. I have a small (aftermarket) pocket on one of my shoulder straps, and the “must no loose” items (compass, a small GPS, etc) could be secured to the ring.
