Personally, about everything i do seems like a mod to or from etc.,
so really don’t look at this as NEW/orphan needing name, but by some measures it would go here
this is just what i do, more than was looking to create knot

Top ‘premium’ crossings most opposing presumed downward load are a target for me(in grooming and evaluation);
That Sailor Hitch most exemplifies; as it does many other things to me as well
Sailor and sibling Pile are 2 top quality hitches in many ways
i find them to be a mixed hybrid of Crossed and Backhand based hitches, almost ‘bomb pruf’ vs. many others
also each has a very strong Friction Hitch form that can even be coaxed to hold on receding taper (Sailor Gripping Hitch & Icicle)
Thus in studying knots and testing theories these 2, especially Sailor i test theory at this extreme end of the science
just as look at the simplest end of scale with fewest parts, shimmering between can and can’t like Square, Awning, Sheet etc. for clues to rest and test all theories applicable.

This is a little bit harder to make, but to me, and my chase of these values,
just the proper way, for best control.
