This may be a boring problem for many of you guys. I want a decorative and elegant way to adjust the length of a lanyard/sling that already has gear on it. As shown in the pic below, the lanyard is shortened somewhat by using a Butterfly loop. What are some other ways? You may also imagine a sling/lanyard that’s a lot longer (e.g., hangs down to my knees), and I want to shorten it (e.g., hands to the bottom of my chest).
I see that you have a breakaway feature, so you probably don’t want to use the standard method of a double fisherman’s knot with the two halves slid apart at various distances.
However, you could do the equivalent task with two scaffold knots/nooses that link into the breakaway feature. Just as with the standard method, you’d pretension the sliding portion of the knot to the desired amount, and adjust the noose sizes as required.
Or did you have something along the lines of a chain sinnet in mind?
