I made a mistake trying a new method of tying a bowline and got this knot.
It ties quick, cinches tightly and won’t slip when loaded on an 2 of 3 lines, holds a fixed loop that draws well through cracks, and unties easily. It also has a nice visual symmetry to it. Great for placing a loop at the end of a rope!
Does anyone know what it is?

What you have tied is a ‘Myrtle’ Bowline.
It is the starting base for some great Bowlines developed by Xarax and Alan Lee.
The form you have tied has a right-hand (Z twist) nipping loop followed by a left-hand (S twist) tail maneuver. This is the most stable form of Myrtle (rather than Z twist nipping loop and Z twist tail).
The type of cord you use to tie this structure affects its security.
